Lens surfaced according to prescriptions in the lens laboratory is called Rx lens. In theory, it can be accurate to 1°. At present, most of Rx lens is ordered by a gradient power degree of 25. Of course, parameters such as pupil distance, asphericity, astigmatism and axial position are customized to achieve the best results (not just a more uniform thickness). Reading glasses lenses, because of more tolerance of pupil distance, the gradient power degree is 50, but there is also 25.
